UK mosque challenge a success

Holborn Muslim Circles (HMC) has successfully smashed its UK mosque challenge which called on the five man team to carry out 15 congregational prayers in 15 different mosques from May 20-22.
The team raised over £700 for HMC’s Dawah and youth development work.
The challenge included leading prayers in 12 cities across the UK from London to Edinburgh and back to London within 72 hours.
The adventure began with Fajr (dawn) prayers at Regents Park Mosque followed by a press launch outside East London Mosque after midday Friday prayers.

 Project Manager Abdulla Al Mamun said his team slept in the car and drove over 1100 miles and found the experience “overwhelming”.
But added: “Seeing the Muslim communities in their own areas, from all backgrounds, including Pakistanis, Bangladeshis, Guajarati, Middle Eastern communities living together in harmony was a truly beautiful and heart-warming experience and it showed the essence of Islam, peace and brotherhood.”
Speaking to The Muslim News Al Mamun said the team “witnessed and felt the strong Muslim community presence and how integral the Muslim Community is part of the British society.”
HMC Chair, Nazmul Toropdar thanked all the donors vowed “to continue to seek the pleasure of Allah SWT through the 3 E’s... Empowering; Educating; and Engaging the Muslims,” he told told The Muslim News.
